Tips for moms to keep their skin young and healthy

Tips for skin after pregnancy

Being a new mom can be quite a task, as it demands you to be on your toes all the time. This also means that you get less sleep, very little time by yourself and definitely big goodbye to your sleep. Pregnancy and post-pregnancy take a toll on your overall health, not just lifestyle, physical and emotional changes, but also hormonal changes. This definitely shows up on your body and your glowing young and healthy skin as well. You often end up worrying and wondering when you will start looking like your older self again. Don’t worry, we have got you covered. Here are some tips for moms to keep their skin young and healthy:

1. Get that sleep:

The first and foremost thing that you need is some quality sleep every now and then. Segregate those diaper duties and cooking work and get some sleep whenever you can. Sleep deprivation not only brings you down mentally but also leaves you looking tired and like a mess.

2. Watch what you eat:

You are what you eat! Include lots of calcium, iron and amino acids in your diet to tighten your skin. Food items like berries, pomegranates, apples, flax seeds, sweet potatoes, green leafy vegetables, and nuts can help your skin to look young and healthy and also help you with breastfeeding.

3. CTM:

Follow the process of Cleansing - Toning - Moisturising your skin, religiously. No matter how much time you are able to squeeze in, ensure that you follow a good skin regime at least before going to bed. Use a good quality cleanser, follow it up with a toner and end it with a night cream to lock everything in and to moisturise your skin. You can also exfoliate your skin twice a week, to get rid of all the dead skin.

4. Sweat it out:

Exercise is the best way to get that natural glow as it flushes out all the toxins out of your body in the form of sweat. Whenever your body feels ready, consult with your doctor and get back to exercise. It will help you to get rid of the extra kilos and give your skin the natural young and healthy look. Exercise tones your body, improves the blood circulation and has an overall positive impact on your health. Start off with some light form of workout like yoga, walking or even some basic stretches.

5. Bottoms up:

Load up on water as much as you can. Start your day with a glass of warm water. You can also add some honey and lime in it to make it a great detox drink. Water keeps you hydrated and is very helpful to moisturise your skin. The more water that you drink, the more toxins your body will flush out. Ensure that you drink 3-4 litres of water every single day. You can also have fresh juice, lemon water, or even coconut water to bring a change in the routine. All these are loaded with vitamins and minerals, that you require to get that healthy and young skin back!
